I have always held a fascination for aerial photography. These images were taken while coming in to land on routine flights, in Spain and Australia. No control over the direction of the plane, but pure delight and excitement at the scenes unfolding below, the incredible mix of man and nature to create such vivid, graphic images, which have become purely abstract. They are also a homage to the Swiss photographer Georg Gerster, who was one of the first photographers to use aerial photography as a creative medium.
